Silicon Carbide

Silicon carbide (SiC) is a high-performance ceramic material made of high-quality, non-oxide powders and can be manufactured to the specific requirements of a wide range of applications.

Due to its excellent tribological properties in combination with low weight, high hardness, high thermal conductivity, relatively low thermal expansion, resistance to corrosion and abrasion.

The SiC particle retains its elastic resistance even up to a temperature of 1650°C, which leads it to a highly diverse range of  industrial applications.

We offers the following range of silicon carbide:

1. SiC (Oxide-bonded)

Silicon Carbide (Oxide-bonded) is a kind of refractory material with silicon carbide as the main crystalline phase and oxide as the binding phase.
It offers many benefits including high-temperature resistance, corrosion, and oxidation resistance, but at a relatively economic cost.
It is mainly used for load-bearing items in the temperature range of 1300ºC to 1350ºC.

2.SiSiC/ RBSiC ( Reaction-sintered Silicon Carbide )

It is manufactured by infiltrating compacts made of mixtures of SiC and carbon with liquid silicon. The silicon reacts with the carbon firming more SiC which bonds the initial SiC particles.

The infiltration gives reaction-sintered silicon carbide high strength, wear resistance, and thermal conductivity. The maximum operating temperature is 1380ºC, and chemical resistance is limited about to pH 10.

Support beams, burner nozzles, cooling air pipes, rollers, setter plates, saggers, etc. are the typical products that are used in the furnace.

3. NBSiC ( Nitride-bonded Silicon Carbide)

Nitride-bonded Silicon Carbide is composed of silicon carbide (SiC) bonded by silicon nitride( Si3N4).

Compare to SiC (Oxide-bonded), it is a higher-class SiC refractory and exhibits exceptional thermal shock resistance and oxidation resistance, and mechanical strength.

It can be formed into a variety of relatively complex shapes with good tolerance control. Maximum service temperature can be up to 1550ºC, and it is especially suitable for firing between 1200ºC to 1450ºC for a long time.

It is typically used for batts, plates, beams, tubes, metal alloy components, etc.
